Why We Do What We Do

Film festivals are the most highly anticipated offerings from Aspen Film, three signature events presented annually throughout the community. Our festivals showcase feature-length and short-form films from around the globe that highlight unique, compelling, and diverse stories.

Shortsfest

Shortsfest was named “one of the coolest film festivals in the world” by MovieMaker magazine in both 2022 and 2025. Held each spring, the festival celebrates groundbreaking filmmaking from around the globe, showcasing shorts that span comedy to drama, documentary to experimental. Filmmakers are invited to present their work in an intimate, interactive setting that fosters connection, creativity, and community.

Filmfest

Each fall, Filmfest presents engaging and thought-provoking films from around the world. Whether it’s a documentary, arthouse, foreign-language, or comedy film, Filmfest is curated to highlight unique stories told through diverse lenses that explore the human condition.
